Liverpool have begun plans for next season’s pre-season tour, and they are considering a few possible destinations.

The Reds are currently enjoying a good period under Arne Slot, who has overseen 19 wins in 22 Liverpool games so far (D2, L1).

Under the Dutchman, Liverpool sit top of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League tables.

They are also in the last eight of the Carabao Cup, where they face Southampton.

As such, there is a great belief among Liverpool fans that the club will end this season with trophies.

But before the season even ends, the club’s hierarchy is already planning the beginning of next season.

This season is set to end in May, with the last game of the Premier League coming on end on Sunday, May 25th.

Meanwhile, this season’s Champions League final will take place in Munich on May 31st, 2025.

Therefore, should Liverpool make it to the final, players can begin their break around the first week of June, ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Last month, the league announced that next season’s Premier League campaign will start on Saturday, 16 August 2025.

So, Liverpool could head out for a two to three-week pre-season overseas between the end of July and early August.

According to The Athletic, the club is already considering a few destinations, including Japan.

Liverpool considering tour in Asia

The Athletic reports that “Liverpool are in talks about playing friendly matches in Japan and Hong Kong as part of a pre-season tour of Asia next summer.”

Last summer, the Reds toured the United States, playing the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal in friendly games across the pond.

With Liverpool having a strong presence in the United States, the Premier League had hoped that the Reds would be part of their 2025 US Summer Series pre-season tournament.

However, the latest report from The Athletic suggests that it is unlikely that the Merseyside club will participate, as they are currently working towards a tour of Asia.

But the report added that Liverpool have not concluded its plans on where to play next summer.

“No final decision has been taken with various destinations still on the table as the Premier League leaders consider where best to hone their preparations ahead of the 2025-26 season,” The Athletic said.

“However, games in Japan and Hong Kong are two of the lucrative proposals currently under consideration.

“Liverpool haven’t played in Japan since the 2005 World Club Championship final in Yokohama when Rafael Benitez’s side were beaten 1-0 by Sao Paolo.”

Liverpool last visited Hong Kong in the summer of 2017 when they faced Leicester City and Crystal Palace in the Premier League Asia Trophy.

The Reds have a massive fanbase in Asia?

They played friendly matches in Thailand and Singapore in 2022 before returning to Singapore for two more games a year later.
